"Those of you that have been keeping up with my restoration know that it's been a long and sometimes bumpy road. All the work that I've done is to get my little Shasta ready to show off at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, a big free music festival out here. She was used as part of the back stage artists hospitality area. It's documented on my blog at aguadream.blogspot.com/2012/10/hardly-strictly-bluegrass-was-strictly.htmlBut thought I'd share just a few pics here to entice you to get see more. Several of the artists were enticed to use my trailer for pictures including Emmy Lou Harris and Elvis Costello all captured by the amazing rock photographer Jay Blakesberg. I have to say this is the payoff for all the hard work, and I am still just loving the idea that so many talented artists spent a few minutes in my trailer. And from all reports many were raving about it! And here she is settling in for the night, my enchanted trailer "

"Thanks Janesfaces....yes it makes all the early frustration and anxiety just melt away....sort of the same way the pain of childbirth vanishes when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time. "

What a great read, and then at the end... a photo of Emmy Lou Harris inside your trailer! Goosebumps!

You have the exact camper same year as me! I even have painted the interior color that lovely aqua color and planned to paint the outside as well. I bought mine in Oregon too! You even attend Strawberry Music Festival.. hahah! Small world. I had some questions for you about the formica. I was looking for cracked glass formica in that green but never found and they quit making the boomerang pattern right after I bought mine. Where did you find the formica.

You really go to Strawberry? It is a small world...you'll have to tell me where you camp. Have tickets but not sure I'm going labor day....we'll be off Yosemite Trails near the intersection with Meadow View.
I bought this formica in 2011 when the last bits of it were being sold still. Was able to order from Home Depot for like $40 a sheet. I have a tiny bit left but have plans to for it.
I'd suggest considering marmoleum for your table and counters if you can't find formica that you like.

Ditto on the Marmoleum. When we were uncovering the awfulness in our little pre-war bungalow, we found original linoleum... Gray (with other colors) for the floor and red (with other colors) for the kitchen counters. It must have looked awesome. It isn't as shiny or hard as Formica, but absolutely period appropriate. You just have to have a decent cutting board to keep in in good condition.

Your trailer is beautiful and I am terribly envious of the celeb pics! What a fantastic experience!

Greetings VTT Well after 2 plus years of rebuilding and 5 years of camping (including the year we camped before she was finished) I'm bidding adieu to Aguadream. She'll be going to a new family in the Bay Area to love. I designed a tear drop to replace her. I thought about building it, but decided that I'd rather be camping in it than building, so hired a builder. It will be ready in August. Here's the post from my blog aguadream.blogspot.com/2017/07/on-her-way-to-new-home.htmlThank you VTT, especially VK, Mobiltec, Hamlet, and so many others for your advice and support in the rebuild process. I really couldn't have done it with out you. This morning I'll do the final walk through with the new owners. I've encouraged them to join the group. I hope you will welcome them as you did me! Marguerite GoneKayaking!

Hey all, I know I've been gone a long time. I've been missing my old Shasta for a while and was reading the blog and the forum thread and thought it might be fun to publish a little book about my experience. I just published it on Kindle and thought some of you might be interested in buying a copy of A Camper's Tale, it's only $2.99 on kindle. If you do and enjoy it I'd love to get some honest reviews. It generously recognizes the help and support of VTT, VK and Mobiltec.
