I would like to mount a propane lamp above the table at the front of My camper, fasten it to the cupboard above the table and right in the middle of the cupboard. I am not keen on installing any 90 degree fittings, or any fittings, within the walls of the camper. I know that the copper tubing would kink to try and get that sharp of a bend to be able to make it fit and route through the wall to the interior side. If a fitting were placed between the walls then it would be a hassle to be able to periodically check to make sure that the Ferrell nuts were still tight and that there is no leaks. Siding would have to be removed or a hatch installed for access. How does the factory route the propane lines on say a Shasta or some other vintage camper ? I can not say that I have ever seen a propane line routed along the outside of the siding. Thank You everyone in advance.

My traveleze has a lamp over the table but there is a bank of cabinets there and piping is inside and appears to run down to main line in wall with a gentle bend in cabinet.....no fittings I can see.

More thoughts. Exposed in the cabinet but runs inside the wall street side down under floor. Didn't just look under floor but if there is a fitting it will be exposed. My main line under trailer is 1/2 " black pipe through framing front to rear. In the cupboard where it goes into the wall the bend is like a large "s" shape so there are no hard turns. At the lamp there is a 90 flare fitting, but this is easy to see.

Mine is mounted on an exterior wall and the line tees off underneath and comes up the wall and has a couple gentle bends up to the lamp. The lamp has an exposed flare inlet on the bottom and the line exits the wall about an inch below the inlet. Sort of unsightly, but it's just the way Aristocrat did it.

OH NO, guess I`ll get to buy another tool. LOL I do have a tool similar for that auto industry, it just goes to 3/8ths" though. I thank everyone for all of the responses. I now will proceed to install a copper tubing through the wall and into the cabinet area. I do have the tubing run to the els for the stove and the furnace and have it ended just below where the tank mounting will set. Easy from there now. All of Your suggestions and knowledge is very much appreciated. What a great bunch of people and what a nice forum to be able to post in problems and get so many good responses.

It's always a shame when one has to buy another tool...smirk! That tubing bender looks pretty cool. I must need one. I must get one.

That's one of our members Gary who did a beautiful restoration. You would like his work. It's one of my favourite transformations. I'll see if I can find the thread.

You were always one of my faves too! But in that picture of me you posted, I'm not bending tubing; I'm bending solid aluminum rod. Probably wouldn't want to try to bend tubing that way. You can make gentle curves in soft copper tubing with just your hands. For tighter bends, you don't need an expensive tubing bender (Sorry Marty...) - just get one of these spring thingies from any hardware store. $9.50 gets you a set of four sizes at Home Depot. Cheers, Gary
