Hello all, so I have this 1964 Thunderbolt trailer. The 15A 125V 2-Pole, 3-Wire Weatherproof Inlet was working fine till today. I think the prongs are just moving a bit much and the thing is obviously old. I searched around for a new one and did manage to find plenty online. However, it occurs to me that it may not be what I need going forward if I want to plug in, in general, at RV parks. WHat are your recommendations? What should I actually purchase and connect to this thing? The only thing it powers are some interior lights. There's no fridge, just an icebox. Even if I get a fridge, it will be a 3-way that I'll run on propane and the solar I will be installing. I grabbed photos with my iphone, but I can't figure out how to upload images to this page, other than the clunky and arcane URL way. I don't have images stored online that way. Is there no ability to simply attach images to a post? If so, I don't see it anywhere. Thanks in advance. Aaron

That's the exact one I was looking at getting as replacement, but then I wondered how I plug in at an RV park. These guys sell them as well. Been buying from them quite a bit. www.vintagetrailersupply.com/15-Amp-Inlet-Residential-Grade-p/vts-2257.htmFor now it would be great while Im working in the garage. IS there an adaptor cord or something would need if I install the 15A Leviton, or should I not install that and go with something else, then get an adaptor for plugging into garage? Thanks for the help!

With a 15 amp service, you should not need anything special to plug in. It would be a standard three-wire cord, such as a heavy extension cord, plugged in to a regular 110-volt outlet. There are ways to make it better if you are upgrading it later. For now though, the replacement plug should work fine.

I guess I thought they were special types only and that I Would need to get a different inlet for my trailer. Seems like I habve no need to change anything roght now then...well, aside from replacing this really old 15A inlet. My only concern is having shore power for the 2 60watt interior lights. There is no other electrical. Anything else I plan on using electric for such as charging all my photo gear, small coffee grinder, rope lights for awning and possibly a 3-way fridge, I'll be powering with solar. This was really helpfull. Thanks guys!

My camper also came with the 30A to 15A style cord, so you could hook up to a site that didn't have the standard outlet... Adapters are also available.

Id prefer to support the vintage trailer guy. I just got 4 teardrop marker lights and some hubcaps. Next is that adaptor and pole and rope awning. Well, also the inlet. He has that too.
