Set the mini fridge in place and added shelves in the closet. IMG-4175 by Mel L, on Flickr As Elizabeth Bennett said in the British A&E miniseries of Pride and Prejudice... ”Shelves in the closet; happy thought indeed!”

Hi Mel, I am new to this forum. But I am not a complete newbie. I built a teardrop from scratch. That being said, I just purchased a 1964 Airflyte that is in about the same shape as yours, and very original. Thanks for your posts as they have been very helpful in my research prior to the restoration. IMG_1450 by Bryan Port, on Flickr

You really did a nice job. Beautiful.
I know you love your Compact but the space will have you hooked on the Airflyte.

Holy crap. I haven't been on in a while and just decided to check things out for a second tonight before bed. Your build is looking AWESOME. Very clean. Really really good stuff.. you might have just inspired me to get my butt in gear (really).

I just got back from the maiden voyage last night, I was supposed to stay last night but decided to leave because it was going to thunderstorm all morning while packing up. It was a great trip and it towed well. IMG-4253 by Mel L, on Flickr My awning scallop kept blowing up in the wind IMG-4255 by Mel L, on Flickr

Mel, it looks fabulous. You've done such great work. I only hope mine looks half as good when finished.

mel I cannot. believe. what you accomplished in 3 months - it's literally unbelievable!! Does this thread show the real progression. It seems like other than some curtains you didn't really get it under cover and start demo until May 2018. I am in awe, and it looks beautiful!!! You should be very proud. Wanna work on a Franklin?

Did I miss the post about the exterior paint? It looks great. What color blue did you use and did you use a spray gun ?

Did I miss the post about the exterior paint? It looks great. What color blue did you use and did you use a spray gun ? I was so busy near the end I didnt have time to post anything. I used Valspar Ultra 4000 alkyd enamel from lowes. They have a pastel base(so they can only mix lighter colors) I just grabbed a paint swatch from the wall, I believe it was called Sea Kiss. And they already have a premixed white on the shelf. I decided just to roll it, So I grabbed a pack of 4" skinny hot dog style rollers and a brush to cut in. After the first coat I was really worried that I had made a mistake not spraying. But after the second coat everything evened out and looks really good. There are a few small spots that I can see the brushstrokes from cutting in, but I dont think most people would notice. Overall I am really happy with it. Paint prep I sanded down the camper, filled numerous small holes with bondo, sanded some more and used a spray can of self etching primer wherever bare metal was showing, and sanded again. Cleaned the camper and did a final wipe with tsp.
