What is ghetto chrome??? I've been trying to find some way to get the chrome look on my grab handle (can't afford $600 to have it rechromed) and the table leg. But everything I've tried has been an utter failure. They can't powder coat it because it's so badly pitted, that without filler you'd see it right through the coating, and you can't coat it with filler because they won't put it in their oven. The last resort for me right now is this kit I found called Killer Chrome through home depot for $125. Do you know something that will work just as good and not rub off?? And the red in that lamp is supposed to look like a forest fire. Here's a short video of what it looks like in action: youtu.be/7Hk1qfKVCYA

Navajo White was a good color choice. Need to scrape and paint the rest of the subframe. What type of paint did you use?

Ghetto Chrome. In this case was a partial can of duplicolor ford silver metallic paint. It's spray paint. It's not hard like real chrome but it's better than krylon metallic paints which can be scraped off with a thumbnail. You can also get some pretty hard clear coat paints to protect the silver with. On a table leg, if it's a normal round leg, you can get stainless tubing in lots of sizes. Re: the lamp, that's awesome! I've seen water motion but never the fire. Though it would be unique for a night light.
For the wheels I used Rustoleum Navajo White It's whiter than ivory, not too far from a cream.

Got a mattress ordered off Amazon. 6" queen memory foam delivered for $123. Shows up vacuum packed and rolled like a burrito After unrolling and tearing the plastic off It was about 2" thick. By the time we made it to the inlaws it was 6" and filled the bunk. It slept beautifully. I'm really liking this camper

Hello and Welcome, Wow, I have never seen one of these. What do you call it? A Tramper?! I love it. Great work. If I had half your skill I would be rich! Or at least employed, lol. Speaking of money. You can have my '65 Ranger for $20k. I don't get the axle not turning assuming it doesn't. Seems like the tires would drag. Good opportunity to show my fan since it came up in you post. 20161113_093219_HDR by vintagehotdog, on Flickr

Or home depot doesn't carry it in quarts.

@vhd I've been looking at a 78 camper special. It's beautiful. But a 460 with 3sp auto spells single digit economy. The wife calls it our gypsy caravan. Yeah. Axle doesn't steer at all. That would be my only improvement. Assuming it would reverse ok. Nice fan! @ Dan, the Navajo White is in rattle cans. Planning Wednesday (74°) on power washing the bottom and letting it dry. Thursday (78°) I'll hit it with paint. Sunday (52°) we're heading south to Georgia.

Today was a lovely 77° so I took the camper to work used the forklift to pick up on the back end and powerwashed the subframe and gave the rest of the camper and truck a squirt too. Tomorrow is supposed to be warm too so I can get some paint on it.

Rustoleum Navajo White. Rattle can. $4-5/can. I'm about 3 cans in. I got mine from the local Ace hardware.

So we made it to Nashville before the flat happened I had to go about a mile to get an exit ramp Got the spare on in a parking lot. Made it 23 miles to the TSC and bought two more. A spare and a spare spare. Made it another 80 miles or so the Manchester TN KOA. Did a late check in and got parked within sight of the bath house. I was impressed, not having been in a KOA before. The bathroom was warm and clean. Do much so Mrs. hairba11 wanted to stay in the Women's until the camper was warm. Another question: I'm a little cautious about the whole fire thing, having grown up in a total electric house and not campering much till now. I always turn off the furnace pilot, then turn off the gas before moving. Is that the recommended practice? Or can I warm up the camper in the last half hour or so before stopping? I even got a hot meal tonight!

No you can't travel with the propane going at all. It should be shut off at the tank in fact for safety. If something hit the line hard enough while going down the freeway it could cause an explosion. My friend who is an expert used in court for propane has told me a few horror stories over the years of people travelling with the propane going in their trailers, not good.
