Hi All: I have a 62 Oasis with underslung springs that give me barely any clearance - see pic. Question: can these safely be turned into an over slung by flipping the axle? I was told this could be done...but is it wise/safe/easy? Has anyone done this - or has thoughts on doing it? I need more clearance...

I would repair or get new leaf springs, but you can get a kit to put the springs on top it will add about 5 inches, the axle stays in the same orientation.

I agree with chickenfarmer, replace them. Flipping the axle is not really safe.

Flipping the axel is not recommended. It changes the way the tires wear.

I must be missing something here. It looks to me like all you need to do is move the springs to the top of the axle, using the same u-bolts? Roger
