Hello- how easy is it to clean out the holes on the stove burner - I've never disassembled one. Is this most likely the issue ...clogged holes? Also any ideas to get the burned on food gunk cleaned off the enamel safely?

Yes it appears to have some partially blocked holes sometimes you can take a can of compressed air (like you use on your computer keyboard) and blow them open and sometimes you have to take them off and give them an acid bath. I have also cleaned them out with a needle it all depends on what is causing your plug. As for cleaning off burned on food I would start with cleaners designed for use on stove tops a go from there, same as you would on your kitchen stove/range.

Thanks for our thoughts, Bigbill. I'll try that. Are these Princess brand ovens pretty common - any idea if the parts are easy to find? Any known sources?

Bell, you have a newer model than I do, but I've seen those stoves a lot. If I can get a replacement valve for my 59 year old stove, yours will be a snap. Try Chris, trailertrasher, he was my saving grace on my stove project and might be able to help. I'm not positive, but the burner top should twist right off, or I've read that they can be held on with a screw down the middle. Mine were the twist type with the screw part of the manifold. I used a brush with stiff bristles on mine, before and after polishing them. Here's a picture of my burner before, but I'd already removed the top piece: IMG_20160607_1727284_rewind by rosewomn, on Flickr Here's what they look like now: IMG_20161009_2126049_rewind by rosewomn, on Flickr
