Hello - I have a torn frame collar around my jack on my 62 oasis. Here is a pic - weird angle, but any suggestions for the best repair? Thanks for your thoughts!

A better picture would help. Is the broken piece on the jack or the trailer? My guess would be that it would have to be put back in place and welded.

Hi Bigbill - thanks for the reply. BETTER PIC!! This photo is with a flashlight and mirror, so a weird angle, but you can clearly see the tear on the frame. The jack is fine and intact. I'm guessing this it not critical for safe driving...right? Would a simple weld be sufficient to hold the jack in its vertical position within the circular collar? Would you feel safer welding a new front triangle on instead so there are no patch welds?

Can you post a picture of the complete tongue? If it's just the collar holding the jack pole, you may be able to weld a support. It's so hard to tell what is really wrong. Could be just that little ring or might be more...
The jack supports the trailer front on and off the hitch, so you wouldn't want it to collapse onto someone's toe.
Might be worth it to take it to a trailer welding place and see what they say.
