I sanded down the entire tongue and found nothing! Took off the jack and sanded under it as well.... No plates or decals on the body (she has been abused).....
any ideas?
I believe its a 68 Woodsman (based on internet research) but would like to be sure...
Any help/direction would be appreciated...
Thanks

Sometimes paint stripper helps more than sanding. Strip the top of the tongue and check for faint numbers...

I will have to try that. Or sandblasting...

Many trailers the numbers are stamped so light that you can sand them off. I always used a wire cup brush on a angle head grinder to locate serial numbers.

I did use a wire cup on an angle grinder to sand off the old paint and rust. Took it down to bare metal. I am guessing they are VERY faint IF they are there!

I just bought a 1974 Holiday Rambler, and found a 12 digit number stamped on the triangular plate right in front of the tongue jack, S734200254--. Now is this the VIN or a S/N? Now I found a sticker on the driver's side of the tongue, but someone before me tried to strip the paint off and took the sticker with it. Any other places I could look for another sticker? Any help would be great, thanks for your time.

It "almost" sounds like the VIN, because of the S73***** (built in 73/sold in 74?) That being said, a lot of A frame couplers also have a number, and it could be that.

I have also emailed the Holiday Rambler Customer Support, and they are going to do some digging for me also. Just wish it wasn't so soupy outside today, I would so be crawling underneath the trailer looking for any other stickers. The numbers were actually stamped into the triangular plate that the tongue jack is welded to, my wife and son took the wire brush to it and they came out very nice. Well thanks for your help!

I could not find my VIN on my trailer as well...so I made an appointment with CHP, and they issued me a new one. The guys actually let me use their own drill and let me put the new VIN stamp on myself! (Nice!). and it was FREE ;-)....and in CA no less!
