Moving all my pictures off PhotoBucket so I will be changing all the picture links in this thread. I have also been doing a lot of work on the Shasta so I will also add a lot of new pictures. Hopefully I will not have to start the thread all over.
OK, that's all for now. If you have any questions about the new pictures just ask away and I will try to answer as soon as possible. I will also try to add some text to the pictures to explain what is going on. Thanks, Dan
The LP tanks are painted the color my '52 Suburban will be.
Well, did a little work on Shasta this week. The drip rail is almost done. It was one of the hardest things so far. Maybe should have gotten some help holding it while drilling and screwing. Over 500 stainless screws with rubber seals.
Been working on Shasta and Suburban off and on at the same time. Here are a few pictures of the work on the door and as you can see the drip rail is done. Also got the tail lights painted. I am using 1963 Mercury Comet taillights painted to match the colors on Suburban. The center taillight is an extra I had for the Suburban, it is for license light.
On the door I had a local machine shop bend an aluminum threshold. the rest of the door frame I put together from aluminum. The hinge is a 6' by 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" aluminum continuous hinge.
Mobiltec, I will be ordering another 250 for windows and vents. I think when it is all said and done it will be over 1000 total for the exterior.
Here are more pictures of today's work. Got the Kitchen window in, vents for refrigerator but not sealed yet (just drilled for screws) and same with some painted parts, (handle and Shasta Name plate). The bottom refrigerator vent looks crooked but it is not, just not screwed down yet.
