i found some putty tape under my roof bend over. it looked like it was factory since there were no old stable holes that didn t have a stable...quite surprised. I think it's a great idea. It worked for Shasta. Only place in the whole trailer that didn't leak LOL... When I tried using standard 3/4" putty it definitely caused a bulge. I found myself pounding too much trying to smooth it out. I wonder if slicing the tape to create a 1/4" strip might work?

Mine didn't originally have it, so the fold isn't enough to use it. Bought some butyl caulking to squirt under there when I get the nerve to button it up for good.

No you use 1/16 inch thick tape.

No you use 1/16 inch thick tape. I've never seen 1/16" putty only glazing tape. Where do you buy it? I get it from a place in Hemet on the way to Steve's. Hemet Trailer Supply but I don't think they ship. See if your local RV dealer can order it for you.

That stuff might even be better than regular putty tape...

I'll try never to use pure butyl again. It may be the best but I don't like how sloppy it trims in warm weather.
An ideal size would be 1/4" wide putty.
