For some reason, the way we post photos from Flickr has changed. Instead of "embedding" the link, choose BBC code instead.
In other words, chose the photo, click on the arrow (swished to the right). When the little box pops up, choose BBC code. When highlighted in blue, copy, then paste in your post.
Hope this works for all of you.

It's destroying me that I can't make this work. I've tried it with every device I own. Even my wife's desktop that she does all her twitbook and facegrams with. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'll keep trying till I figure it out. Don't feel too bad,I can't get it to work ether. Danny I had trouble at first but I was clicking the wrong arrow. Open your image first and use the "right turn" arrow at the bottom of the screen. Then you'll see the BBCode optikon

Note: You MUST be logged into Flickr to embed photos... Wonder how I learned that??

Just got back into VTT. I was using Photo Bucket. It looks like you folks have the new Flickr figured out! I will try soon and get some updated pics loaded up. Thanks for all the info and testing you all did!

Is there no way to drag and drop photos to a post. I created a Flickr account and tried to add photos that way, but all I get is the text on the BB page and no photos. Why is this so complicated ? Thanks

Hi,
There is no way to drag and drop. We don't hold the photos on the server. Costs us money.
I just double checked my procedure.
When you open your picture in your flickr album, click on the arrow at the bottom. Chose the BB code option. Left click on the BB code link that will be shown. It will be highlighted in blue. Right click on the BB code link to copy it. Paste that into your post.
When you do this method, you do not have to use the photograph icon in the menu bar above.
Hope that helps. BTW, clever screen name. I got it.
Rod

I appreciate all the work it took to put this tutorial together, but wow, what a process. Maybe I'm just not computer savvy enough, but what's so hard about just drag and drop or simple import of the photo like most every other site Ive ever used, Thanks anyways

...what's so hard about just drag and drop or simple import of the photo ... I believe it has to do with linking photos verses having Proboard store them. Some hosting sites kick against storing countless photos.

We lost an entire Shasta Board because of too many photos. They were uploaded from people's PCs and then Proboards decided they wanted $$$ per month to host them. All the photos were lost unless we paid. (we didn't)

Yes but more challenging than using a computer... You need to copy and paste long strings of text/numbers that correspond to the image ID's from Flickr to your post. So long as you're comfortable doing that with iPad you should be OK.
