What in the world do people think that airplanes are made of? The exterior skin of most aircraft is aluminum. If they are preped correctly there is no problem. The aluminum should be cleaned, etched,alodined, and primed. The primer used to be Zinc Chromate, but there are EPA restrictions now and other primers have been developed for use on aluminum. Painting an aluminum skinned trailer is no different then painting an airplane, and the paint stays on planes at extreme speeds.

Hollywood uses paint that doesn't stick... Well not for long anyhow. Lot's of the old airplanes that I have jumped out of are used in movie making and they use paint that peels off nice and easy after the shoot. That's why many of the aircraft you see in my older jump photos have no paint at all except some very small numbers... They are all made from aluminum and will accept paint just fine if the aluminum is prepared right. But Movie Paint peels off. Just thought I would throw that in.
