Oh cool! But at 45 degrees you might have to preheat the spray cans in warm water. I just like gooping it on real thick! LOL Brush on works great in colder weather but still not recommended below like 60 degrees.

Most of it works better the warmer it is. Though sometimes we do what we have to to get by. Usually we get away with it right.

More info on Rust Reformer RUST-OLEUM Brand, if needed; I just quickly knocked off flaky paint (putty knife and wire brush) then used auto brake cleaner, blow dried with compressed air, applied 2 thick coats of “RUST-OLEUM RUST REFORMER, Instantly Converts Rust to a Protected Paintable Surface, STOPS RUST” ( 8-|LOL commercial) Seriously though, after it's applied there is a chemical reaction that takes place between it and the oxidized iron. After the catalytic action takes place between all the chemistry, it leaves a hard black semi-gloss surface that can stand alone or be prepped for further painting and coating. If you plan on using it alone it needs a second coat. If you plan on using oil based paints to cover over it has to dry 4 hours before priming then painting. If you plan on using lacquer or spray paints to cover over you have to let dry for 3 days before priming and painting. All that is just this particular brand. Also note, these are just the directions on the bottle. Over the past 10 years, during the many projects in that time, I have used this product, I have found it effective in many extremes involving lower than recommended application temperatures and higher than recommended humidity environments. There are many others brands of Rust Reformer, but this one is mine. (From movie Full Metal Jacket) www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2R6iZ615o8This is my brand. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My rust reformer is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. My rust reformer, without me, is useless. Without my rust reformer, I am useless. I must use my rust reformer true. I must spray straighter than any enemy who is trying to rust me. I must clean and paint him before he rusts me. My rust reformer and I know that what counts in this war are not the brands we use, the noise of our burst, nor the mess we make. We know that it is the killing rust that counts. My rust reformer is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weakness, its strength, its parts, its accessories, and its dry time. I will keep my rust reformer warm and ready, even as I am ready. We will become part of each other. My rust reformer and I are the defenders of my steel and iron. We are the masters of our rusty enemy. So be it, until victory is RUST-OLEUM’S and there is no enemy, but clean, painted, rust free steel. ;)Or just go to the source for more info on RUST-OLEUM'S RUST REFORMER here; www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/auto/paint-chemicals/rust-reformer/

Very cool. Can't wait to smell that nice dry lumber smell. Soup, you're top notch. A little goofy (we're becoming friends now, so I can say that) but you sure know your stuff. I'm learning a great deal with every post. On a side note, the hubby and I have been toying around with a name for our trailer. Both of us are huge National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation fans. With that being said "Ruby Sue" is top of the list. We'll see if it sticks. www.youtube.com/embed/KFoqhey_eCA?autoplay=1[Clark Griswold stares in horror at Eddie draining the RV toilet into the sewer drain] Merry Christmas! Sh!tter was full! Sorry- potty humor. I live in a household full of boys...

GS, I'm sure you'll be over in a week or two. I should have some more wall panels in by then and it will smell more like a lumber yard in there instead of a mushroom/compost factory. Whadayamean a Little Goofy??!! I try so hard at being totally goofy.

Hey your close but not there yet, totally goofy. Did you see that I got my 1500 in the shop where it is warm, went out there yesterday and just sat down inside and reconsidered my plan of attack while my daughter was home with the boss. I found it very relaxing no noise just me and my thoughts, it was just like being alone on a mountain top on a nice spring day.

I just love this weather, at least the Shasta is warm and dry.

Bill, This crap sucks!!! You are so blessed to have your camper inside now. Now they are calling for a over foot of snow with 15 degrees below zero for here tomorrow! Are they freeking kidding me??!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know we are trying not to talk weather here on this thread but JEZZ!! A foot AND 15 below zero!! What do they think this is? Alaska?? I'm in a panic now. My snow blower runs but won't stay running now without pumping the prime button all the time to keep it running, needs repair today and now there is a foot of snow with 15 below heading this way. Enough is enough already!!! I give up! Heck the snow blower wouldn't even run at zero degrees! It will be a total trick to keep that amount of snow off the roof of this LoFlyte too. I don't have the Jrails on yet and there is only little nails holding the roof on right now. That is going to be serious weight on that new roof. I'm not sure my barn roof can handle that kind of snow weight either. If the barn roof fails, my 64 Dart and 63 Compact will be damaged. The last time we had 10 below here was about 20 years ago. I had gotten my pick up started, heading to work, backed out of the driveway, it stalled blocking the street. Would not re-start. Blocked the road for like 3-4 hours. It puked most of it's oil onto the street. I had to rig a heater under the engine, and put 3 quarts of oil in it. After heating it for two hours it finally started again. I blew off work that day and pulled it back into the driveway. I had already missed most of that day of work anyway. Main thing is, I hate cold weather now that I'm older. If I have to be in 15 below zero weather, I might as well live in Alaska and pan gold in the summer instead of living here working on campers all summer. 12" of snow and 15 below zero. Welcome to global warming. I hate cold soup Keep in mind, this time last year I was still working in the driveway with 50 degree sunny weather two or three times a week.

Soup think about all the sweating you will do next summer when it's 95 degrees and 95% humidity. That is the blessing of living in this part of the world. \

That is the blessing of living in this part of the world. \ Yes but I can at least readjust the work schedule when it's 95/95%. I just work from 5AM till noon. Then again after 6PM each day. Can't even get those hours now. I'll feel good if I can just get out and clear the snow off the roof of the LoFlyte every 4" of snow! AWESOME! Just got the snow blower working again!!! Tightened carb bowl and re-adjusted air/fuel mix screws. Runs so fast now it sounds like the piston is going to fly out of it. Car hauler parked next to LoFlyte for standing on deck to remove snow from roof during storm. Boss is out getting groceries now. Okay, I hope we are ready now. All I can do is pray about the barn roof. It's too icy today to get on it and clear snow. Hope it doesn't collapse.

Those of us here on the Left Coast would be happy to take some (a lot) of that precipitation and coldness. Too bad we just can't steer the Jet Stream in a different direction. It was 50 in Seattle the other day. If I wanted 50 degrees in January, I'd move to northern California. I try to look on the bright side, though. All our winter clothes are packed away for another 6 weeks until our restore/rebuild of our pre-WW2 bungalow is done and we can move back in. In the meantime, our lighter-weight summer/autumn things are working fine. Sigh.

Hamlet I wish we could send it somewhere, I have to take the boss back to the surgeon for x-rays Tuesday and they are talking about a total of 10 to 15 inches of snow with sub zero temps plus high winds. It makes getting her in and out of the wheelchair all most as much fun a pushing her through it. I've had her transported twice at a grand a pop so that ended that. Oh well if I take good care of her maybe some day I'll have some one to curl up next to, after almost fifty years I don't sleep well without her. Hopefully in 6 or 7 weeks she will get the fixator off and all will be better.
