I located a 1956 Star trailized house a couple days ago. It's a 20' trailer and in really good condition. Outside just needs to be cleaned up, inside needs some work but is not to bad. Missing is the original stove and furnace and it has a replacement toilet and shower. Some water damage in the ceiling panels but the floor is solid and it has good bones. It looks to be a park model with no storage tanks. I'd post pictures if it weren't so difficult.

Yes, thanks. I figured it out once, about a year ago, but would need to start from scratch now. I don't have that kind of energy anymore,

I went to the tutorial, tried but couldn't manage it. Seems kind of an over complicated method of posting pic's to me. Maybe explains why there aren't many pictures on the site. All other sites allow to directly download from my files.
I have lot of great shots to share from three vintage trailer rallies we attended so far this summer.

Rockerarm, we lost all of our photos on the old Shasta board because Proboards decided they wanted $70 per month to allow uploaded photos to remain. With over 3000 members, I'm sure the MB would double that.
So, we learned to link photos. It's not hard and almost every member posts photos. It's a learning curve, but don't give up!

Linking is easy, but if you like to use your phone, it's awkward. Try the Tapatalk app and you just tap the icon, select your photos and it's hosted on their servers.

Is yours a Star or possibly a Silver Star? Here is an ad for a 1950's Silver Star park model. Click where indicated for a larger view. www.vendio.com/stores/vintage_rvs/item/catalogs-other/1950s-silver-star-mobile-home-/lid=972735This one looks like a longer version of the one I'm concidering. I found info on a 1951 Travelette, and a 1951 Elcar, (both manufactured by the same parent company, "Mid States Corp"), that appear almost identical to the 56 Star. The "Atlas Mobile Home Directory" revealed a 57 AD for the Star. Thanks for posting the link. Thanks for posting the link.

We could not come to terms on the Star. Present owner has placed a lot of sentimental value on it, which didn't translate to monetary value to me. Nice, but needs a lot of work. And it turned out to be a 1951 model.

Definitely a cool camper/park model. Were you thinking about towing it or putting it on a piece of recreational property. The current owners would do it more justice by selling it onward, sentimental or not, it is pretty apparent they are not currently, and probably never will do anything more with it. It would be a pity for it to simply deteriorate sitting unprotected in the open like it is. Did you mention you are a Member of a Vintage Trailer Forum dedicated to preserving vintage campers and that it would be given a chance at a new life to create new memories?
Looks a lot like a nice Yellowstone. Good find, don't give up on it too soon, check back periodically.

The current owner knows he will never do anything with it but thinks it's worth about double what I offered. He was hoping his nephew would be interested enough to restore it, but like most kids these days he has no interest in working that hard and went and bought a newer camper.I left my number and told him it was a standing offer..... Time will tell. Our plans were to keep it at a favorite beach rv park instead of towing our concord every time we went down.

How did you know it was a '51. I have this same trailer but I think it is a '50. Stamp on the passenger side of the tongue says 50 2818. Trying to decipher what it means. It's a really cool camper and they seem quite rare. I have only seen 2 others on the internet and I can't seem to find much information about the manufacturer, mid states corp

I love this trailer. Would love to see the inside. And please remember that you have no idea what shape the framing (bones) is in until you remove the metal skin. Especially around the bottom and under all the openings. These park model trailers were built with larger framing than the travel trailers. So it takes more rot for you to feel it under your feet or when pushing on walls. One thing I can say for sure. Unless this trailer has been covered most of it's life, it's going to have some rot. No one will know how much until it's looked into But I really like the shape and I'll bet it would be just beautiful inside fully restored. Depending on what the inside looks like and how much is missing I would place value at between $500 and $1500.
