I am in the home stretch on my restoration / Recreation of my 1965 Aljo Sportsman trailer(metal frame up rebuild, stupid termites). I just got all the LP lines in and pressure tested. The over top burners are working fine. The over Pilot light will stay on but the main over burner never fires no matter what temp I set it to. Is this the thermal couple not working? or do I have a valve issue? also any ideas on how to change the thermal coupler and where to get a new one if that is the issue?
any suggestions on trouble shooting it, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carey,
I think you may have a bad oven valve. The thermal-couple is working or the pilot would die. When the oven valve (knob) is set to 400*, the pilot will have a little roar...

Well the good news is the oven is working fine it a Floor to Knob / Controls Issue. Having confirmed I am a true Noob at this stuff and having never owned anything with a pilot light.
after reading every post I could on here about ovens I came across a thread that talked about how to turn on and off the pilot light for the oven. turns out I did not have the pilot running the flame I saw was only there when the oven valve was turned to a temp setting. The other post mentioned a letter B shaped on / off knob under the range cover, so I lifter it up and search around and low and behold there is a Letter B knob looking right at me. I changed its position and was able to get the pilot light to run its up higher on the burner. once this was running for a minute with the oven knob turned off. I was able to set a temp and the main burner turned on for the first time in over 30 years!
Now I can send all the rusted oven parts out for rechroming and make it look like it did in 65 again, that it's working ok.
Thanks for you repley vikx, but the valve is fine, this one is totaly my inexperience showing.
