I know I'm changing the thread but can you help me? I have a 1965 18' Super I am having trouble finding the right size tire for a six hole rim a 205 15 hits the skirting before I can get it on the drum. should I be looking for a different rim? It came from a Toyota.
Thanks in advance for a reply mosquito boy

Yes. You probably need a smaller width rim.

I also use a 205 15 and it hits the skirt before reaching the drum. I just gave it an extra shove and once it slipped up in there it fit very nicely. Just be sure that your trailer is on jack stands before you shove the tire up in there. My only concern is if I have to change a flat tire on the side of the highway, it won't happen quickly. You can also take a little air out of the tire before putting it on to make it fit easier.

Some tires need to be completely flat to mount or remove. Of course, in case of a flat on the road, that's not a difficult operation.
I use temporary or toy spares. They are small, easy to mount and easy to stow. Just get the correct bolt pattern (5 on 4 1/2 for most)
