I use a torch and Mapp gas. It's pretty hot...

I ran across that same ebay site earlier today, and did a double take at the asking price. Never having broken or been in need of a "fill pot with lid" I had never priced a replacement. Wonder how many people have not bothered to salvage that part thinking "just how much can one of these be"? Now that I know, all I can say is guard your Baby's wings and her fill pot. That heavy gauge chain leading under the camper and extra large water bowl are looking more and more like a wise investment.

The water fill is a delicate piece... The BIGGEST secret is patience... if you try to twist too hard it will not end well...ask me how I know.... On the up side, they can be available on ebay from time to time.... But most anyone who would part with one believes they have the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...so best advice...DON'T BREAK IT!! I ran across that same ebay site earlier today, and did a double take at the asking price. Never having broken or been in need of a "fill pot with lid" I had never priced a replacement. That heavy gauge chain leading under the camper and extra large water bowl are looking more and more like a wise investment. And just maybe a camping buddy on the other end of the chain...

They say a dog is better than any alarm. Nobody messes with a camper that has two Dobermans chained to the hitch.
The ebay listing brings up a good point. Many rotted campers are worth more as parts than intact.
$100 for a spout??? Ouch!

I have my own feelings about the cost of these parts...and those that would drive the market up so wildly as this. But this is a family site.

Ten, if I had such a good looking dog on the end of the chain, I'd have to have a second guard dog to guard such a handsome camping buddy. Onliest thing as low as a vintage camper napper is a dog or cat napper!! GRRR!
