I am thinking about painting my stove, I'm not really sure though... I will be putting in a white mini fridge, so I would think the brown stove will look weird with the white fridge... so if I do paint the stove it will just be white. I would love to know if anyone on here has done it, and how did it turn out? what kind of paint did you use? how does it hold up in the long term??
p.s. I cant afford to get it re-porcelain

If you are going to use the cooktop don't paint the top near the burners. Most paint with emit toxic fumes when in close contact with an open flame, even most high heat paint and epoxy. Read the material data sheet (MSDS) before buying it.

It costs $99.00 for re-porcelain. If you are going to use the stove its worth the cost, long term. A few people have used brake caliber paint with success as it is made for high heat. There is also a brand called Mr. Stove bright or something like that. Try googling it.
I did the re-porcelain, but I have heard people who have done their stove tops themselves with one of the two paints above say they are happy and it did not peel. I believe they sanded the surface somewhat first.

I was thinking about powder coating. Would that be a durable and cheaper option?

I called a few powder coat guys to get some quotes. I am planning on having them spray a panel for the front of the new fridge, the stove, the stove hood, and the heater cover. The quotes came in the 200-300 range. Each of them said not to do the top of the stove unless I was cool with it not lasting.
