I still have to create a turn stop where it can only be rotated 1/4 turn left and right so you dont get lost as to where it is rotated.

How about adding a long arm that sticks out sideways in both directions and allows the latch to release before the longer arm contacts the back wall and prevents farther rotation. it might want to be V shaped. just a thought. The system you designed gives a positive latch without a doubt. Another thought would be put a dot on the blue knob to show when the latches are in the closed position.

yeah, great minds think alike, the blue knob has a small allen head set screw that holds it on the rod, my plan was to "clock" it so if the set screw if facing you it is locked,(in transit) if you cant see it, it is open. (when you are camping).

Now that is a very cool setup. I've been using a combination of child-proof latches and yardsticks, and it's never been very satisfactory. I'm going to see if I can try to copy your method. Thanks!
Of course, inquiring minds want to know... where did you find the nifty blue knob?

it is actually a guitar knob, I was searching Ebay for "blue chrome knob" and found it, it has a 1/4 inch hole with a set screw, perfect for my 1/4 inch allthread.
