Chris, when you took the roof off, did you do it in one entire piece or in sections? Looks like my trailer has 4-5 foot sections for the entire roof. Thanks

Although it looks like that type of seam, the sections don't come apart. You roll up the roof as one piece. I've never heard of any Shasta being done differently. I think Mobiltec has a video on taking the roof off a Shasta. It's really very easy.

Thanks yet again nccamper! I haven't gotten to the point of taking off the roof, now I need to figure out where to store it, so it doesn't get ruined....

Yeah, I would suggest taking them all off in one piece. There should be four sections total. They're in 4' sections simply because the aluminum came in 4'x10' sheets. The seams are just common Acme seams. I had the sheet metal shop put the seams on the edges when I bought the replacement aluminum. They just bend them really loose and you hammer them tight when you put the sections together. Based on what the sheet metal guys told me, I don't plan on putting any kind of sealant in the seam itself. I'll put the seams together, prime it, and the run a bead of flex-seal down each one before I paint. Unless someone has a more "approved" method, that is... I'm all ears.
