Thanks!
As of now I have the spacers I pictured on the outriggers where they're a little low and all seems well. Either the plywood floor width grew... or the outriggers never extended under the walls more than 1/2 inch at most. I broke quite a sweat tightening the bottom of the walls to the inner-boards (I love to over-tighten things) so I think it's just the way they were.
OR - a quote from http://www.oldtrailer.com:
"An interesting history tidbit: Aloha saw a spike in travel trailer sales during the 1964 Seattle World's Fair, as scarce housing for fair visitors drove enterprising Northwest locals to park Aloha trailers on their property and rent them out as temporary lodging!"
So maybe volume was too much and they started cutting their outriggers a little short from being overworked ;-). Amazing what you find when you Google all kinds of stuff about your trailer.

Hi Allan,
Nicely done! I just discovered your restoration thread and read it from stem to stearn. You used some very innovative ideas in your restoration!
In regards to your comments on the lack of support at the ends of the outriggers. I too came to the same conclusion on my Westerner. How could those walls stay attached with just nails?! It seems to be more common than you would think. In hindsight, I went overboard and had the old outriggers cut off and new ones welded on. Probably a bit rash and more expense.
I see you are in So Cal. Do you get To any rallies down here? I would love to take a closer look some day.
Cheers,
Rod

Updating an ancient thread here - but had the outriggers on this Aloha replaced a while back. They are now nice and tight up against the bottom of the walls without the use of spacers. A good welding shop should be able to do this for you if anyone else is wondering :-).
