This is really cool because my 12 year old son has just started a 1946 Jeep Willy Cj2. He and I were battling over the color tonight. I was begging him to do the red to match my Shasta so we could pull it with the Jeep. He said red is "too flashy" (what does he know? He is 12? haha). Bottom line is it is his car, he is doing all of the work, so he gets to pick a color. But maybe we can pick colors that at least coordinate so we don't look like Rainbow Bright going down the road.....

Is he restoring it to stock or ? ? If stock it probably won't make a good tow vehicle due to top speed being so low and the short wheel base. If my memory serves me right they only would sustain around 45 to 50 mph without burning the valves. Then with the short wheelbase it will be more likely to cause a lot of trailer sway plus the manual steering and brakes don't tend to agree with a heavy trailer. Even though it might not be a good tow vehicle it will be very cool to have. Vintage Jeeps are like vintage trailers, getting hard to find and very collectable.

He 12?!?! The only things my 13 year old builds are on Minecraft. That's so cool!!! I keep hoping I can get my son interested in the trailer, but maybe the end product will be more appealing than the pile of aluminum it is now.

What Bill said. It's actually pretty dangerous to tow with that small of a jeep unless you are talking a teardrop.
