I was going through old external drives the other day, and ran across photos of my first trailer from back in 2003. One of the biggest regrets I have is letting my then husband talk me into selling it. I saw it again a few years ago standing n an empty lot with a For Sale sign on it, but didn't have the money to get it back. The PO had made a few 'improvements' before we got it, most notably the paint job and covering the tabletop with vinyl linoleum, but I don't care, it was still a beauty, and a great find. It had an odd layout, there was a WC to the left of the sink straight across from the front door, and the icebox between it and the dinette. It worked though, and the WC was large enough to turn around in. The water tank was in the long cabinet at the bottom. It had a shore hookup for water, and the round knob below the stovetop was the pump handle for pressurizing the water otherwise. Great design for a tiny trailer and great use of all the space. Another thing I liked was the spring loaded roof vent over the dinette. One of those invention you wonder why they don't make 'em any more.

It's a shame you couldn't buy it back. I like the refrigerator but it must have been tight in a such a small camper.

I like mid 60s Cardinals. They're really good looking body wise and have a sturdy frame. Sorry you couldn't get it back.

It's a shame you couldn't buy it back. I like the refrigerator but it must have been tight in a such a small camper. I don't remember it being horribly cramped, but I was much much thinner back then! But it does give me the idea of turning the water tank in the Goblin 45°' so it is along the front instead of the side. This would give me a floor in the closet, right now the tank straddles the closet and underneath the fridge, creating lots of wasted space.

Scott (who's doing a lot of the restoring on the Goblin), has a mid 50's model. Similar layout, but the galley is on the street-side, with a dinette to the front. It is a couple feet longer, but feels much more cramped than either my late lamented Cardinal, or Goblin.
I love the curved cabinets though!
