The back panel doesn't look too bad. If it's not delaminated, might be savable. Add extra cross sticks front and back for stability, Shasta was lacking there...

The back panel, I'll show another pic today was more rotted on the inside, so it's gotta go. I'm hoping the .20 birch ply I found will work. I might end up doing some sanding to make it work, can't find 1/8 birch anywhere around here. I was plan in on adding a 1x4 across the back and extending all the support frames to be flush with the wall... Just have to get the 3/4 ply strips made for in between. I am going to remove the awning rail completely today, so I can peel back the skin, far enough to see the side walls and floors in rear.

Quick question, I am starting to replace some framing. The original boards are 1.75 , the new boards I got are 1.5 (1x2) I know If I use the thinner boards I have to make sure it all lights up, has anyone else used th thinner boards? I'm guessing it's not a big deal.. Advise?

If it is a wall (flat) you might consider ripping 2" or more from a wider board.

Good job! Bringing back wood is so rewarding, all the more so when it's on an iconic Shasta. Looks good to me!

Don't forget backers for light flanges and other things. Come in very handy and lend a lot of support...

Quick question, I am trying to replace the back bed/couch... Is a futon matress a good bet? PO had put In a regular matress (not sure how he go it in there) luckily he didn't mess up the original sliding couch/bed.

I turned the couch/bed into a permanent bed on our latest camper. We bought a Walmart memory foam mattress (Full size) on sale for $150, took the cover off and cut it down to 48". My sister trimmed the cover to fit. I like the look of the goucho but it's not as comfortable as a real mattress.
