Looking for info on a Travel Chef two burner stove that came out of a 1964 Go Tag-A-Long camper. It was damaged during demolition (not by me. Sad, sad reason for demo, too) and I want to make sure its all there. flic.kr/p/G5BEiw

I for one envy your ability to acquire what you have found in such a short time. Someone here has the stove info you need.

The two burner appears to be a "stove top" sans oven and looks fine to me. What is damaged? It's pretty hard to screw up a simple stove top... Actually, I've never had one NOT work. There have been cases of PO messes that damaged the manifold, but they are rare and very easy to identify. Also, most ovens have a lot more guts than above. Not sure of the brand, but there should be a cast iron burner and usually a thermocouple and pilot. Depends on the stove of course. Here's a pix of the burner in one of mine: Pilot and thermocouple: And a gutted oven, missing all the goodies: You can see the little nubs of past connections at the back. Too bad the PO cut the connections, because this oven could have been repaired...

Thanks! Yes, this is just a stove top. I figured Id start small and work my way up to the big pink Dixie stove im getting Saturday. The chrome thing around the stove was badly destroyed when it was taken out and some of the pieces inside were knocked loose (I think I have them all). There is also what appears to be two gas lines going into the stove which I havent seen on any of the stove tops or stove/ovens that I have here. I fixed the chrome myself! I bent it back (that took a long time) removed all of the rust and 'glued' the broken pieces with JB Weld. Ill finish the stove today.

Thanks LadyW, can you get us a picture or two? Always great to have different models in our archives! Ok so here are some photos of my stove. The top is off and the front panel as they have been reporcelained. Here is the top. I am wondering about the best way to get rid of the rust? Next is the view from the front... A close up of the square thing that makes the fire. Here is the end of the square thing where it meets the back of the stove... So all of that sits at the bottom of the stove, very low which I guess gives maximum space for cooking. Which is probably a good design as long as it works. I'm going to clean the whole thing up really nice before reinstalling it.

LadyW, you must be related to SusieQ! LOL. it's the feet...
The easiest way to clean the rust under the stove top is to scrape (careful not to hit the lines/tubing) with a flexible putty knife. Vacuum the debris and repeat. You can then use steel wool, but it's not really necessary. Paint with high heat paint after masking the burners and badges. I have used aluminum, but black comes in gloss, so less chance of sticking spills. These paints are sold in the auto section or near the BBQs. Stove and fireplace companies have some awesome high heat color selections.
Thanks so much for the photos! What brand is your stove? It looks like a nice size for actual cooking something in the oven. Before installation, do a bench test with the oven on and see how hot it gets below. Some stoves are set directly on a platform, while others are open below, so this test is important. Many of my trailers have scorched wood beneath the stove.

I believe it is a wedgwood stove but ill check. I'm glad to know I can paint the inside.. it looks gross. I know you don't really look under there but "I will know" if its not cleaned up. LOL To do a bench test do you connect the propane to your barbQ tank?

Yes, the BBQ tank will work fine. Be sure you have a regulator tho. RV propane appliances run on low pressure, so without a regulator, they will FLARE a bit... Here's my test tank:
