The last few weeks have been an interesting adventure at the DMV, but all is right in the vintage trailer world tonight. Lola is now registered under Permanent Trailer Identification (PTI) status. On the first DMV visit, registration started out at close to $900. This was lowered to $455 with an approved waiver of late fees (required statement asserting Lola had been non-operational when I purchased her). I did not complete the registration that day, and returned today for a second appointment. This time the cost went down to $175 with PTI status. Lola has her registration and new permanent plate. Title is on the way! Overall the DMV officials were very helpful and cooperative with the process. Kudus to the DMV! If you would like to read about the details visit " Lola’s great day at the the DMV" blog page: www.kivas.com/wp/2016/03/31/lolas-great-day-at-the-the-dmv/Mark

Congratulations at triumphing over the oppressive and incompetent forces of California bureaucracy. Great blog post. We are racing to get our trailer together by our registration date in November so we can attempt the same... Spending a grand or two to save $75

Nothing like having a firm deadline to provide motivation. Mark
