Newbie here with first post. To make a long story short, I was given an old Shasta that had been sitting for years. Unfortunately, it never made it home in one piece. I hit a bump getting it out of a field and it imploded into itself. I still have the frame and would like to build a camper on it to put on my other property for the weekends. My problem, while removing the tires , 3 wheel studs broke off. It has electric brakes and seems to have a metal piece rivited to the hub, so I am unable to see the head of the wheel studs. Has anyone changed wheel studs ? How do you go about doing this ? Thanks in advance for any help.

The studs should be press-in. They may be screw in but I doubt it so it isn't a big deal to replace. The biggest issue is making sure you support the area around the stud head so you don't distort the drum. I would use an impact socket or a thick piece of steel with a hole in it just a little larger than the diameter of the stud head. A shop press and a drift should press them out with ease. Then just press in new ones again making sure to support the drum so you don't distort the drum.

Welcome to the forum.
MJS is giving you some good advice. I agree, take your time and don't distort the drum.

In regard to you question about the brake plate it most likely will have to be removed before the studs can be replaced, then reinstalled.

Broken Studs would be a great name for a classic rock band.
