Howdy all, I am the proud owner of a 1969 Tag-A-Long. It took me 10 yrs to find a mid-sized vintage camper and boy I thought I had read everything about these darlings. I did get a decent camper for an excellent price and the work has begun. I am clicking along pretty well but am stumped on how the potable water gets around and do I really need a grey water tank. Plenty of time to figure those things out as well as a couple other questions. Thanks to all who help us newbies realize out vintage camping dreams.

I could not be more excited that I just bought a 1953 Fleetwood. I am a total newbie - fresh out of the womb. I know NOTHING about restoration but I am excited to learn. Based on the above information I am assuming my first step is watch all of Larry's videos! Just getting started. Can't wait! Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated! Cheers! Sarah

I just got a '69 Frolic for free last week, and I'm so excited to get started. What project from Larry's videos would be the most similar? I've looked through your video links numerous times, but have no idea which one to start with.
Aside from replacing the axle and tires/wheels, I have no idea what to tackle first. Inside or outside first?
I should mention I am gutting the inside completely - this camper will be used as a traveling photobooth so all the cabinets/table/beds/etc will need to be removed.

First off DON"T GUT IT... That will RUIN your camper. You need to ask this question in another part of the forum. First thing you need to do is post photos of it inside and out so we can see what you are dealing with but DO NOT REMOVE THE CABINETS> They are what hold the trailer together. You have a lot to learn before beginning., We're here to help.

I just watched 6 parts of your Shasta remodel yesterday actually. We have to remove most of the cabinets to make room for the camera and sitting area, but my husband will know to reinforce it or know what needs to stay. He's a contractor/master carpenter for a living. We haven't touched the inside yet, just working on replacing the axle and tires first so we can get it out of a bad spot in our yard where the flatbed put it. I'll be sure to post pics in the other forum!

Hello all.
Just found this site while looking for decal examples for my 80s 26ft golden falcon i am fixing/restoring.
I also just became aware that my golden falcon does not meet the vintage criteria for this site.
Could any one direct me to a better suited site for my camper age ?
Thanks in advance.
I also have experience in fiberglass and custom woodwork if any may want advise in those areas (retired cabinet maker, Model/pattern maker and cnc machinist)

Removing the cabinets will remove almost all of the structural integrity of your camper. So I can't help you at all with that. Have fun with your project though.

Steveg, all campers are welcome here! We do like to keep discussion aimed at vintage trailers but many of the rebuild methods are very similar. So feel free to join in on our discussions.

Hello
I have a camper and not sure of the make and vin location.
The number I found (thanks to some help) is P7258.
There is a metal plate by the door that has Shasta trailers on it but no fins or wings on the trailer.
Please if any one can help I'm all ears.
My camper is white with a band running along the side.

Hello! We are happy to find this forum! We purchased a 1955 canned ham Terry. We are going to restore it, so we will be asking for your advice. My husband has stripped most of the paint off. We have removed the floor and some of the wall and ceiling panels to check the interior. The skin is pretty sound. There is a lot of water damage along the windows, ceiling vent, and back. Where do we start???!!! Guess, we need to watch with the videos. Thanks so much for this forum. We look forward to becoming good friends.🙂
