The back windows are famous for leaking. The seal inside the window will most likely need to be replaced. It's not difficult. The most difficult part is getting the glazing strips out without damaging them but if you do that correctly, you won't have any problems. Make sure you clean off all the residual dried black butyl.

My 62 Compact had just glazing tape. No rubber gasket. Odd, but it worked.

Our '62 compact didn't have the angled side pieces. Instead it had a flexible gray strip. I almost had the glass out when it broke This is what I bought to replace the old flexible strip that holds the glass in (in addition to using the black glazing). It fits just like the original. www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Hehr_Clear_View_Window_Strip_p/vts-196.htm

Mine looks a little different than nccampers but doesn't seem like it has a gasket like yours.

Mel, are the top two pics of the outside of the window? I'd take that gasket off first to see what's behind it. Almost looks like a channel for the gasket. Then you might be able to tell what is holding it in. Somebody... vikx? has seen a window like this. There's no way you have the only one, lol.

If those are all of the outside, post the pics of the inside.
