Hello all - the photos seem to no longer work? If so is there any way they could be re-uploaded? I'm having a terrible time figuring out how this specific model works. I just want to know how to pull it apart and put it back together!

I just want to know how to pull it apart and put it back together! PhotoBucket really made life miserable for us by turning off the links to photos. I just found most of the photos and will re-post them either today or tomorrow.

So I've since realized there is not a key broken inside of mine, so I want to salvage it and bring it to be keyed. It would still be helpful to know how these round ones come out without damaging it. The end of that thread references back to here where the pictures are broken... eek.

Maybe you can PM him and ask if it's possible to reload the photos of the round cylinder l66 in this thread. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/5760/bargman-round-lock-cylinder-question

Photos should be fixed. Here is one more, of the lock cylinder. The spring-loaded retainer is located about middle of the cylinder.

It's not you christina, it's apparently the service I was trying. The photos have vanished, even though the code still shows up if I go to edit the post. On goes the search for the next server...

Update - since the lock wasn't broken as originally suspected, all I had to do was bring it to my local locksmith. He said the fact of the handle being new or old didn't make a difference so I didn't remove the cylinder (he showed me how to do it in about 2 seconds). They stocked the Bargman key I needed and I was out the door in ten minutes! It only cost me ~$10 for three new keys.
Thank you all for the effort. It'd certainly be helpful if the thread worked for future reference but it seems the Photobucket issue is quite a pain.

Hi Friends,
This might be of some help. The following comes from VTS on their installation tips for the lock with the notch. I have the lower door handle that is pictured below on my Rod and Reel. link
Then there are some installation instructions.
INSTALLATION NOTES: 1) To remove an old cylinder when you have the key, insert the key and turn 1/8 turn or so and wiggle while depressing the release pin in that little pin-sized hole in the chromed lock casting. When the pin depresses, you can pull the old cylinder out toward the key. 2) To remove an old cylinder when you do NOT have the key, either take it to a locksmith or do it yourself by drilling out the cylinder from the keyslot side. Any good drill bit can do it. Drill out enough of the center of the cylinder to create a void. Then drive the release pin into the void you've created. Do not drill through the little release pin hole because you risk damaging the chromed lock body. 3) To insert a new cylinder, put the key in the cylidner, wiggle the key while depressing the brass release pin, insert the cylinder into the lock and then wiggle the key again until the brass pin springs out and secures the cylinder in the lock.
I am going to give this a go, but maybe I should have taken to a locksmith first just for estimates. Some of you seem to have gotten lucky.
Thanks Kevin for the revised link above. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/6700/replace-door-lock-bargman-l66
Cheers,
Rod
