I don't do plastic so this is what I've intended for my trailer since I got them 6 years ago. They are very similar to your new set.
That was a heck of a deal by the way, you should be quite proud!

You can just get some white bowls to match...maybe you can search etsy and ebay and find them from the same set.

Try America's Thrift just west of Mobile. I saw a very similar set about 6 months ago there for about $12. I'm sure it's gone now but they have a lot of stuff to browse through. It is an old supermarket sized store.

I am a thrifty shopper sometimes... I admire people who can hold out for good deals, hunt and practice restraint.
Thrift/antique stores around here, not to mention crazy places like LA, would be charging upwards of $50 for your set.
I have vowed to take a road trip specifically to go antique shopping out of state, hopefully down south too for a whole list of oddities we don't get much of around here...and at affordable prices too. I just need to finish having children...they don't mix well with lots of browsing amongst old and fragile things.

I just need to finish having children...they don't mix well with lots of browsing amongst old and fragile things. For over a decade my wife and her mom and I would attend an annual Antique Fair held in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Some of the most beautiful antiques of all kinds were on display. Some at very reasonable prices. I happened to notice a very large display of fine china and crystal displayed by an older couple from the same town I grew up in in Central Florida. I started a conversation and although I did not know them/their family, they said they had been coming to the show for years. They had the usual signs, you break it you bought it posted around, especially a very large "table" set up with some of their finest stuff. A mother with three unruly little dirt-leg kids entered their section, and the kids were obviously oblivious of any manners around such items. The sellers asked the mother to please explain to her kids to be very careful. The mom took offense to the request just about the time the oldest kid, about 6 or 7 plowed into one end of the large display table. The table began to collapse, and by the time the falling wares settled in a huge broken pile, I am sure tens of thousands of dollars worth of antique china and crystal was broken. The woman did not even miss a beat as she glared at the merchants and simply walked away. The Antiques Fair so many of us looked forward to was never held again.

That is crazy vintagebruce I would have liked to see that and not at the same time. lol I couldn't engine being that vender. I love thrifting as I call it, but I have to get a good deal or I leave it behind, or I tell my husband about it and then it usually shows up for an anniversary or bday I always get a little nervous when I have my 3 year old with me, she's been pretty good so far.

My older son is three, I have quite a few breakable things out in my house, glass candy jars, delicate picture frames, antique ceramic lamps and some porcelain bird figurines from the 40s (it's my only group, 4 now, of totally useless impractical collectables I have) in the front room. He isn't allowed to play in there, but he is allowed to sit and look at a book or hang out with company there. Unless the candy dishes have candy, he doesn't touch much, he knows to be careful. If we leave him in there too long though, he wants to play. he has only broken one of the vintage glasses we drink out of on a daily basis... it was down in his play area and it should have been put away. He only drinks out of glasses or ceramics, he knows not to throw cups. I don't believe in plastic sippy cups for kids at home, I don't do plastic plates or bowls, we eat off of vintage tablecloths often. I think totally babyproofing everything denies children the understanding of needing to pay attention to details, like how they hold their cup so it doesn't spill, being careful with carrying their dishes or not banging their fork on their plate, where to wipe their hands and that rough housing isn't ok everywhere. I have taken him to a few antique stores and held his hand. He can only handle about 15 minutes of not touching stuff so I let him feel blankets and try on a hat, hold an unbreakable, cheap toy here and there, and if, God forbid, there is an inexpensive ball anywhere, we get it. He is pretty good as far as little boys go. That is horrifying about that poor couple's antiques and that woman-who was completely irresponsible. I am totally fine with "no children" policies, I know why they exist. I love antique shopping... It's just not for some kids/adults That said, have you seen some of the online prices of metal spice racks for Glamping? Ebay has a few listed at $50! For cheap aluminum, no frills racks! I had two with more detail on them in my last trailer and I should have taken them out and made some $$$! Basically if you label it "glamping" it's automatically insanely expensive! As long as someone selling vintage anything doesn't make the "glamping" connection, it may still be affordable...like your melmac.

Wow, thanks for the heads up on those I will keep my good eye looking for them, when I'm in thrift stores, and at yard sales.

Me too! They seem simple enough to make, it's only bent aluminum. Maybe that's a good thing to reproduce...vintage trailer supply should carry something like that.
