I have to ask.. Is there any such rally similar to this in the fall, somewhere in the South? Have not heard anyone say so, so I assume not. But wanted to inquire. It seems like so much fun when the air is crisp, the fire warms you up and the colors around you are amazing. But, still want to see this one if I can, thanks!

Checkout southern vintage trailer friends. They have a gathering every month (I think) throughout the year. Google them, they are on Facebook and have a regular website

I'll be cranking my air conditioner for sure! The Cloudland Rally in October is "sold out" but not really. There are plenty sites in the other loop, which is the one I prefer. If you haven't been to Cloudland Canyon you should try to come. It's beautiful.

Once again I sold my finished Rally camper just before the Riverbend get-together. I have my back-up camper but that may be coming apart for a deeper restoration. I have a great spot reserved I may not need. Anybody interested?
PM me if you're hoping to go. If nobody is interest I'll just call the campground and cancel.
Maybe next year...

There is a rally like this at Fall Creek Falls state park in TN it is Halloween weekend. About 90 minute drive from Knoxville and 90 minute drive from Chattanooga and 2 hour drive from Nashville.

Man, I'm going to have to start saving money after we finish Lil Bit so I can go to places like this. When I first started thinking about a vintage trailer it was so I could meet new people and travel around the west. I've lived in Boise my entire life and have done very little traveling. My father lived in Puget Sound when I was a adolescent so I spent some summers there, went to California 3 times, Disney, Yosemite and San Francisco, went to Yellowstone when I was 9 or 10 and the rest of my travels have been to the Salt Lake City area where my grandmother moved when I was 13. That's it, except for one trip to Tracy Minnesota for a class reunion for my adopted dad and I think I was maybe 12?? I know we saw Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument and the black hills area, but it's all very vague.
I've always wanted to see more of the country but financially couldn't do it. Now I'm hoping with my little house on wheels I can actually get to some of these awesome places I always wanted to see like Maine in the fall, the Atlantic ocean, the smoky mountains. I can hope for some of these things, but just getting to that Cloudland Canyon is 29 hours drive time minimum. I think I'll be really happy to be able to see more of the states around me, at least then I can say I traveled 😃

I will most likely never get my little camper over your way, just too far. But hey each part of the country has its beauty for sure.

Very true Rich, Sam and I were talking the other day about places we'd like to see and one of mine is the canyons and arches in Utah. I saw a tiny part on the way one year from Boise to Las Vegas for a family reunion with my ex's family. I remember grabbing brochures at the hotel that night and wishing we could stop and see some of that area. But was traveling with his parents on their dime and his old man hated sight seeing, he definitely defined the term cranky old codger and he wasn't out of his 50's yet. That trip should have warned me what I was in for with that family, but I had barely turned 20 and figured I'd grow on him. Never did, but didn't matter, I divorced his son before our 2nd anniversary.
I've never seen the Grand Canyon either. Don't know how much fun it will be since I'm so afraid of heights I can't stand getting on a ladder to paint the top of a wall. But I plan on going there, and I want to see San Antonio river walk and these awesome caves and canyons I've seen pictures of that are in Arizona. Shoot, there are tons of places in Idaho I want to visit and never have. I know more about the attractions in Utah than I do my own birth state of Idaho. I could spend years just touring all the places here.

Anybody have pictures of the rally? We were there and had a great time. I only have a few pictures and will try to upload them soon.

I'm curious, what makes and models are the trailers you and your wife liked? I like to look up trailers I haven't seen before and I don't recognize them.
