It ain't purty but it's cool. Still in the upper 90's here in the Deep South. I brought my window unit that I use with my teardrop and I'm so glad. Here's what I did. It cools it well, sometimes too well. I do wish I had splurged on the remote control version, however I can reach the controls with the window screen off. I wrapped the blue foam window insulation found at Lowes around the window and air conditioner. I only used one layer but you could use more. I just barely taped it to edge of the window frame and covered the insulation. I have a hard foam frame covered with duct tape around my air conditioner that fits up to my teardrop window and I taped it to that with the aluminum tape. I don't think that part is necessary but it does make it possible to slide it off without having to untape all the way around the unit. It is sitting on the tub that I haul my a/c unit in. The table is a small folding table from Walmart. It has adjustable legs and travels easily in the cargo area of my Jeep. I put it in first and put the suitcases on top of it.

Leave the window in...a nice idea.
People up North are scratching their heads wondering why make so much effort.
I understand all too well.

It was 97 degrees and 80% humidity when I got here. I almost left the air behind but I'm so glad I didn't! I have a sliding window on my tdrop door and I can open the window and stick this unit in it and it fits perfectly so I figured why not try it in front of the Shasta window. I tried it out at home and I just wrapped it with garbage bags and it worked it just fine like that.
Crazy thing is, on the way down here, we stopped for a while in Tenn and then stayed the night in Ft Payne, AL on top of Lookout Mountain and we were cold at night with just the fan on.
