I'm comparison shopping, I checked out foamorder.com and thefoamfactory.com. Anywhere else?
I'm looking at a foam with a 2.5 lb./foot density, but there is another foam that is described as "firm" and recommended for mattresses that is less expensive, however that has a density of only 1.8. If you also recall the density of your foam, please indicate what you bought and if you feel it would support a 200 lb. plus man, as I want to be sure Husband is comfortable.
i thought maybe having a list of suppliers and some personal reviews on density in one thread might help future members too, as buying quality foam is no small expense and something you would really want to get right the first time.
Foamorder.com will also sew the cushion covers for $60 or less per cushion, a little more for piping, etc. That's with me mailing my fabric to them. Its more if they supply the fabric. That seemed reasonable to me, I think taking the foam to a local upholsterer would be more. If anyone has experience using your foam company to do your sewing, please also comment on how satisfied you are, but primarily I think it would be nice to get a list of places to check out and comments on density.
Thanks in advance!

The miracle won't be when we finish, the miracle is that we had the courage to start.

I bought 5 inch High Density foam from JoAnn Fabrics when it was on sale and used an additional 25% off coupon. It is definitely firm enough for my 200+ 1lb husband. I covered them myself, using vinyl for the tops, sides, piping and upholstery fabric for the back with zippers.

I bought ours at a local shop that sells upholstery fabric. You might give a few places a call and see if you can go over and feel out the foam to then decide which one you want.

I bought ours from a local foam supplier. I did not find anything at JoAnn Fabrics that would give us the support we needed for long (2-3 week) trips. It was pricey, but we have been very happy with it. We also liked being able to support a local family business. But that's just us.
