I have a 196? 1500. The sink is stamped '63. The plate on the tongue is "22xxx. I can't find any other plate. There was no original title, so the previous owner listed the trailer as a 1966.

Is there a letter character in front of the numerals? The letters were coding for the plant that built the trailer and would (somewhat) help nail down its era of manufacture, too.
The plate on the tongue would be located inside the rail of the tongue on the driver-side of the trailer. The other side is stamped into the metal on the outside (curbside) of the tongue rather than attached by means of a plate. this stamping can be really difficult to find as the numbers can easily be painted over or rusted over.
Although logically, the stamp on the sink indicates the time frame for the sink, and not the trailer, I am guessing that a 1963-dated sink was probably used in production in 1963 or 1964. I don't believe that Shasta ordered too many years in advance....

Post some photos and we can help narrow the age down. Also, do you have a mirror on the closet door? Remove it and see if it has a date (made) stamp on the back. If so, and the year is '63. I would figure the camper was made in '63. This might also help. It is supposedly a blog by a person who says they have a 1963 Shasta 1500. I have a Shasta plate on the side for Northridge, CA. My trailer tongue has been heavily painted and the original mirror replaced. My trailer looks just like the 1963 in the link you provided. Thanks.
