I removed the original Townsend step-flush style toilet from our trailer and am not going to reuse it. All of the non-porcelain parts are rusty and corroded. The seat and lid seem to be in nice condition.
Are the old toilets very sought after? I don't want to haul it to the landfill if somebody could use it.......
Any thoughts?

From what I understand these were not all that difficult to refurbish, even though it's a "crappy" job...
I don't know how sought after these are, but in the last year my wife and I looked at two campers, one was missing the toilet, with the holding tank still in place...and another had the same type toilet in it, which led to asking if they would be worth the trouble of restoring. You might want to clean it up just enough to throw some photos up in the parts for sale section, see if there is anyone in immediate need.

I am trying to restore an old marine type toilet..not sure of the brand, Ill have to look. The seat and lid are good on mine. Haven't gotten into the bones of it yet tho....what year is your trailer? Ill look for my brand of crapper...hahaha...

Hi,
A lot of folks with doing restorations on 1960s vintage airstreams with the toilet under a molded fiberglass bench look for these toilets.
Newer RV toilets that fit under the bench have bigger bowls and have side base flush pedals...can't be used without major cutting of molded bench.
