Among the highlights each year (for us) is at least one weekend at the TRF in Plantersville, Texas. We've been going every year for a long time, and have camped in our Shasta since we completed her. This year the TRF runs from Oct 10 to Nov 29 each weekend and we will be there again! Anyone in Texas want to plan ahead on a mini rally at the TRF csmpgrounds? Camping is boondocking, no hookups so you must have your own generator, but water faucets are available to fill your freshwater tanks and port potties are spread around the campground. Let us know if you'd like to be there!

Is this like the Society for Creative Anachronism? www.sca.org/The SCA holds a large faire in my town every year. I'm not into it myself but it's fun to visit, some of those folks are pretty serious. I love watching the blacksmiths and seeing all the metal craft. |

RinTin... the TRF is the largest Renaissance festival in the US, and attracts 500,000 visitors a year. There are SCA folks who attend and put on displays at TRF. The main appeal of TRF is a family friendly event to experience medieval music, food, pageantry and fun. Once you visit, you will be hooked and become a 'Rennie' also! Playing 'dress-up' is a big part of the fun. HOWEVER== add the camping in a vintage trailer factor and it is even more fun, and it is amazing how people in ginormous motor coaches who camp there will ask to look at our Shasta and be won over by the retro charm. It is our hope that maybe some other members here will be able to join us for a weekend of camping, Renfesting and vintage trailer enjoyment.
