This is the panic attack inducing scene Swamp Witch is referring to. Rear paneling and framing replaced, installing insulation. Interior shot of new paneling. When this was taken, the trim strips had not yet been installed and I had not yet reshellac'ed the ceiling paneling. New electric system installed and functioning. New Shasta magazine rack with aqua formica insert

Greetings Keri, I to wanted a project and got one, not as involved as yours. Mine was redone but the PO wasn't truth worthy.I have to find leaks and was told the wrong siding was used hence leaks. OH well that's where I decided to get creative. I was raised with a wrench in my hand, thank you daddy. But still this project has been over whelming at times. I consult with everyone I cross paths with, my friends say I can now speak with a fence post about my trailer. Great conversation piece, people even stop to ask me about 'My Little Shasta'. Meeting interesting folks. But I have learned one thing, 'My Little Shasta' may have many a problem but it's MINE to ENJOY during all the ADVENTURE!!! Enjoy the journey girl....

Ya just gotta ask yourself how many 50 year old cars you see running around in perfect condition. Same with houses. Like I always say, just look at the little projects in your trailer separately instead of one big overhwelming project. It's just a collection of little projects all neatly wrapped up in a little rolling box.
"My Little Shasta" would be a great name for a blog on your project. And when you are stuck and need help, you know that we are here to help in any way we can.

I smiled reading this one. I'm overwhelmed every time I look at my huge list of to do's, look in my driveway & she my sassy Shasta in my mind, then see how she looks today. I too am a single woman, luckily I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Thanks to my dad who had 4 daughters before a son. I have had plenty of offers for help & I'm researching & taking notes daily it seems. My neighbour is a mechanic & offered to help with bearing repacks & brakes when I get there. I was looking at tow vehicles & my son's said, "question, shouldn't you wait until you can actually use that?" Nice, some motherly advice from my grown sons. Lol I look at all the beautiful work everyone has done to transform their trailers & I know one day I'll be that proud also. Hang in there!

Hyphen where are you located again? I think you told me but I hear from so many people on a daily basis that it takes a while to put places and names together.
Also..... Don't think that just because your trailer is unfinished that you can't go to rallies and go camping in it. As long as it is legal and safe to tow, go for it. That way you can be thinking about the list and it's priorities.

Keri, my hat is off to you. I found this thread to be not only interesting but also inspiring. Thank you for starting it. I am a craftsman with multiple talents in electrical, woodworking, sheetmetal, welding, etc. But you know what? When I read the posts by those of you that are rebuilding these units generally with no prior experience, one word, AWESOME! I have no doubt you will achieve your goal.

61 Shasta you are exactly right with all of my talents and experience at times these trailers can seem ******** so I can only admire those that take one on with little or no experience and complete it to the masterpieces that we see here on a regular bases. It just proves we can do anything if we really wish to and are willing to put out the effort.

No matter what our experience, if it's our first trailer there are lots of things to learn, ayuh.
Some people say they're like miniatures houses, and that whatever you've built or fixed on a house, you can do it on a trailer (plumbing, electrical, woodwork, etc.).
I kinda think they're more like owning an old cruising boat, it's just that they leak from the top instead of the bottom. And if they really, really leak, you don't drown, so that's good.

Yes cowcharge my current trailer leaked enough water when I got it to drown you but it had rotted a hole in the floor large enough to drain it out.

I'm in southern Alberta. Parts are hard to get here (eBay is my option) & I count on all of you to show me the proper way to repair things. I just ran to Montana yesterday to pick up an order from VTS for window stuff & a sink for the kitchen. Again thank you for the videos, I've been watching for hours. Mary-Ann

I think I told you that I have been up to Alberta... Good to know your name now too Mary-Ann.... Boy there sure is a lot of different ways to spell that. I have a few friends with that name and they all spell it differently LOL... Not sure if that is more confusing or less. Either way I'm glad the videos are helping.
