Is it truly reasonable for the seller to expect to get that much? If so, it must be a very special model Airstream. Leave a trailer to sit and rot for 30 years then sell it for 9K, and no mention of a title? Crazy. Well it is OBO. LOL.

LOL! Surely he meant $900? Which is still more than it's worth...

Thanks to free CL ads you can make up a price and wait. Why settle for $900 when you can list it for $9000?

I have been watching a lot of Velocity shows recently, and when the "stars" of any of the ones where they go out searching for old cars to restore, the seller starts at a mindboggling number and inevitably the agreed upon price is less than half the original asking price. Problem is, even the selling price still seems way overpriced to me until you see what the restored vehicle "supposedly" sold for. I think the seller has been watching too many of the shows I watch. I agree, no matter what is inside, there must have been a mis-print and one too many zeros appeared in the asking price...then start working on that OBO.
Until that happens I predict this trailer will continue to be "field art".

Flyte Camp Flippin' RVs trailers for sale
Go take a quick peek as some of the prices on these flips and you'll see the main reason why the price of junk trailers has gone bonkers as of late. People watch this show, and see the price they sell the end product for. A Globetrotter was recently feature on this show as well, so perhaps that, in the seller's mind, warrants that atrocious asking price.

Airstreams... a class all their own. (Owners...about the same...) It does come fully stocked as mentioned. Looks more like an episode of "Hoarders" than "Flipping RVs".

That is the show that ruined the way we have been practicing our hobby. At least for me anyway. The whole idea is to go out and find a total piece of junk that is taking up too much space in a field somewhere and bring it back to it's original glory without spending a mint on it.
Flyte Camp has a 7000 sq ft shop, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tools including three different types of CNC machines, many employees and a TV show that is paying them boo coo bucks to feature their "business"... And even Flyte Camp would never pay $9000 for this old beat up Airstream. By the way there has got to be at least 23 million Airstreams around so none of them are all that rare. Even the Bambi is not really a rare trailer although very popular.
Looking at their website I see they never did anything with the Stewart Double Decker. They've had that for a few years now. I remember watching the show when they bought it and I think they paid like $3500 for it? Now they want $15k?

I think we are all with you on this. I don't have TV so haven't had the "pleasure" of viewing the show. Sounds like its just another example of American superficiality, greed and excess.

Well it's fine for the super rich who want a nice big shiny trailer and not have to do any of the work. But we are Hobbyists... We are in it for the fun of procucing something ourselves, in our spare time, with very little in the way of tools, space and money. This aint Flyte Camp.
