Greetings from Maine! I just purchased a 1961 Ace Camper(all original and in great condition). I was told that it was made in Lisbon Falls Maine. I can find no info on ACE campers anywhere.

Hollyhock, great find. Where in Maine are you? An ACE camper is on my camper bucket list just because of the Maine connection.

Welcome and congrats... I worked on an Ace once. Didn't do much to it because it was all metal inside and out. We just painted it and put new tires on it and off it went. Great looking little campers.

That's great, love the emblem/decal as well, but someone should let the supplier know that Maine is spelled with an "e".

I also just acquired an Ace Traveler!
It seems to be early to mid 60s, around 15-16' overall, kitchenette, dinette, pull-out futon bed, and a cot style bunk that can be hung over the collapsible table. And of course, the quilted aluminum interior wall paneling.
But I've really been struggling to find any information on them... I know they were built in Alfred, Maine into the 70s I believe, but there couldn't have been many of them made. Do any of you previous Ace owners have other information on them? Especially eccentricities or distinguishing qualities.
Thanks all!

I have a weird suggestion if you are looking for information about Ace campers especially eccentricities or distinguishing qualities. Do a search for Senior Citizen Centers in Arundel and Alfred. Ask the Center Manager if s/he would post a notice on their bulletin board that you and some other Members of VTT are seeking information about the Ace campers from someone who might have actually worked there or knows someone who knows somebody that did and heard stories, like an older relative. Chances are, there are still old timers around that might love to share their knowledge. It's worth a try.

Hello, I also own a 1961 Ace camper! It's nice to know I am not the only one. It is so hard to find information on them. Does anyone know where to find the VIN on an Ace? I have the title but cannot locate the VIN to get it registered in my state. I think I need to do some paint stripping to find the numbers. Cute campers for sure. I will try to post a pic or two. Thanks

I have just joined the Ace travel trailer family!! We picked up our 15' camper today. The year is believed to be 1969. There is a badge next to the door that has a series of numbers that is believed to be the date. We would LOVE any info or leads that can help us know the original layout/electrical/plumbing. Does anyone know of a place to get manuals or old photos of the Ace travel trailers? Happy camping!!

Hi last July I picked up an ace camper in Maine. We are trying to register our camper. Wondering if anyone knows where the VIN number is? Love our little camper! Hopefully I'm posting correctly! Thanks you!

After wire brushing everything on the front of our 1964 ACE Camper, I found our VIN on the top passenger side of the tongue next to the trailer jack. I found it like the one pictured at www.irv2.com/forums/f65/how-to-find-vin-243964.html. A note of caution: The VIN is stamped into the metal and it is not very deep. Therefore, do not sand or grind to remove the paint because you might get rid of the VIN also. Use a paint stripper or wire brush instead.
