Hi, my husband and I just bought a vintage Boles-Aero trailer and we are in the process of renovating it. On the title it was listed as a 1961 model, but after researching online it looks more like a 1952 version. Do you know where I could find a vin number or model number to help me find the year?
Thanks, Celeste

Hi Celeste and welcome!
If your trailer is your avatar, it does appear to be older than 61. Do you have any more photos to share? Appliances often tell the age better than the body...

to VTT. I have a curb side photo of a 1949 and 1952 Boles Aero. The '52 is an Ensenada. I can't tell from your avatar pic if your Boles is smooth-sided or not. Your Boles is shaped very much like, and with the same characteristics as both of those campers Here is a thread to a 1954 Boles-Aero Mira Mar. It is my opinion, if your camper is smooth sided, you have an early '50s Boles. If it is not smooth-sided I think you have a mid 50's Boles-Aero. No matter what the year, it is definitely a nice looking collectible trailer! www.trailerlife.com/camper-trailer-news/rv-trailers/1954-boles-aero-mira-mar/Reason I asked if it was smooth sided is that this Boles is claimed to be circa '57/58...an El Dorado, and you can see they have gone to louvered jalousie windows and siding with a raised pattern look. www.facebook.com/405935309463762/photos/pcb.829644560426166/829640563759899/?type=1&theaterFinally and then I'll give it a rest. I found this 1961 Boles-Aero Zenith ad...again it shows what the general appearance and type of windows were used on 61 models...note the size and style window(s) in the door too.

There is a yahoo group for boles aero that you can ask admin for acceptance. There is a photo section and you can compare your SN to others. Please know the vins are kind of random but similar years are close in numbers. Please post some photos, would love to see it.

Congrats on your find. Nice cool looking trailer and that red stiping is nice. I saw one of those at a recent trailer show, but it had no stripe. Lotsa rivets. The VIN is probably on the tongue somewhere. It could be on top of the tongue rails or maybe on the side. My Westerner had the VIN stamped on top of the tongue rail near the trailer jack. Sometimes they VIN can be stamped farther back towards the trailer body. The letters and numbers for the VIN were large enough to see. My VIN numbers were a little over 1/2" tall. However, my trailer had been painted a few times, so the VIN was hard to find at first. I eventually found it underneath part of the propane tank holder. Get some paint remover, putty knife and see what happens. Was this a Craigslist find? From your screen name, and the background of your Avatar, I will suspect that you found her in the SoCal desert on the outskirts of San Diego. Did I get that right? Rod
