the appliances, the foam cushions (easy to clean and re-cover), etc etc. Well worth the price.

Don't make a big mistake and part out a trailer that is very restorable. Even without a title it appears to be a great project trailer that you could flip make a profit and spend the profit on the parts that you need. Kind of looks like a Kenskill, vintage 59 to 64 What is it? Let us know, there may be a buyer on this forum. Where are you located?

Get the serial number off of the tongue and have the local police or state police run a search to see if they can come up with the registered owner you might be able to get a title. Be honest and tell them you got it for free to haul it away, that way if it comes up stolen you won't get in trouble. Even if the registered owner doesn't have a copy of the title they can get a duplicate then sign it over to you. If they want it back you can charge them for towing and storage then use that money toward what you need. Either way you are a winner. If no records pop up you should be able to apply for a new title in your name. Every state is a little different but it is worth a try a complete trailer is most likely worth more than the parts plus it takes by far less effort.

It does make me feel kind of sad to do that. I'm not a monster! I'll know more tomorrow after seeing the actual condition of it. I didn't think it was that old. The outside makes me think 50s or 60/ but the inside makes me think 70s. I know it is difficult to get a title, so that makes me hesitant to sell it to someone else. I'm located in Michigan. Thanks for input!

Unless you live in a HOA that would not allow you to put this in your driveway with a For Sale sign on it, the next to worst thing you could do would be to get it home. Give it a good cleaning and put the FS sign in it with Best Offer as a price and give it about a week to see what offer(s) are made. The absolutely worst thing to do is not get it into your possession.

The thing that effects selling used parts is the packing and shipping cost, many times it cost 2 or 3 times what an item can be sold for to ship it to someone.

By the way, if you parted this trailer out you have well over $1000 plus in parts. Here's a few things that you could sell: door, door lockset, screen door, windows, cargo doors, ceiling vent, exterior lights, interior lights, stove, refrigerator or ice box, wheels, cabinet hardware, curtain rods and mounting brackets, drawers, cabinet doors, gaucho, jack, table, dinette cushions, stone guard, etc. etc. Then you also have the skin panels if in good condition, the trailer frame, and the axles and springs. If you don't want this trailer as a project, I'm sure you can sell it for a nice profit and at the same time give someone a bargain. Just the ramblings of a heat affected vintage trailer nut in Tucson, Az.

I agree if you have a local buying market, but if you have to figure in shipping those parts that are large cost more to ship than you can get for them. You also have to figure in your time and the mess sitting around while you are trying to scrap it out. Good Luck whatever you do.

Just remember the Trailerite's Prayer....
God grant me the strength to restore the trailers I can, The courage to strip the parts off the ones I can't, And the wisdom to know the difference...

... and the acreage to keep the trailers I haven't made up my mind about quite yet.

Free is only too much if you the parts you aren't able to use or sell are going to cause a disposal problem. For example, are you going to be left with a trailer frame with a bad axle and no way to get it off of your property? If you have a place to scrap the leftovers and it doesn't cost you more than the salvageable parts, then free is never too much.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I went and looked at it and it was in much worse shape than the pictures show. The ceiling is moldy and leaky all over, and the whole back is rotten and full of mold. it also very clearly from the 1970's based on the fixtures, colors, etc...
It is a Trailblazer made trailer. I talked with the lady in possession of it, and she was fine if I took off the parts I needed. So I grabbed things they were useful to me, and they will probably scrap the rest eventually.
