My oven is finally restored, works great and is powdercoated a beautiful red with chrome trim. I am putting it all back together, and I am having a HECK of a time finding heat resistant (appliance/oven grade), insulation. I only need a small piece, to fit between the oven door, but cannot seem to find it, other than a place online for $63 for a huge strip. Any ideas?

Hi, what's the website? Because I need some too, if it's the same thing I'm thinking of. Would be willing to share an order of there is enough material there.

I think that's what I am looking for. When I pulled it out, it was just rotted insulation. And yup, its for sandwiching inside the door. I have had a hard time finding a small piece. The diagram on this site looks confusing, but yes, its just the piece between the door, that's all. Its worth a shot for $2 bucks! If this is what I am looking for...THANK YOU! I think it is....I will take a double..haha!

Mine was just insulation that was rotted and came apart when I pulled it out.....it is the piece that goes in the oven door. I have a Holiday oven/stove from a 62....look at the website...the piece if cowcharge is right (which he is always right so it probably is..haha......) is only $2....I will share it with you my treat if you want to buy me a cup of coffee at some point! haha..

Actually on second look, I don't think that's it...I am looking for a sheet of insulation that was like the full size of the oven door..sandwiched between the door to keep in the heat I assume? Maybe I can use this instead?

Go to a place that sells heating/pellet stoves, fire places and the like. They have the high heat insulation you need. Here, our place is called Craft Stoves...

Thanks Vikx, I have gone to Home Depot and Lowes and an appliance store, but none sell the piece individually (or would sell the part to me individually). We have two places that sell stoves, fireplaces, pellet stoves. I will call them. Thank you!!!! Love the ideas on here!

Our stove dealer cut me a piece...charged me $20 which I think was a bit high, but considering I didn't have to order it and pay shipping, and couldn't find it anywhere else, I took the bait. Now to put back together my oven! So excited! Thanks everyone.
