I put the cart before the horse, and got our trailer before having a decent tow vehicle. Guess our loser cruiser Honda Odyssey minivan won't cut it for pulling the Airflyte from what I gather from other trailer owners.
My neighbor is wanting to sell her 2003 GMC Yukon SLE. It has 120,000 miles on it, it's in great condition, has all the bells & whistles and she has kept up with all its' maintenance etc over the years. Only thing it needs is new tires. One advantage of buying from someone we know and can have a true car history vs. buying from a dealer...
She will sell it to us at Blue Book value which is $6,790 then less $800 because she knows it needs tires. So total cost at $5,990.
Anyone have reviews about this vehicle? Is that a good price considering the mileage?
Since we are putting out so much money for the trailer restoration, trying to find a tow vehicle that won't break the bank on top of the trailer breaking the bank.
Thanks in advance for your input!

on the whole it sounds like a good deal, however no one can give you a solid answer without being able to look at and drive the vehicle,
does it have any oil leaks? valve covers, does it use oil? how are the break pads and rotors? has it been a tow vehicle? does everything work? AC, lights, all power windows, radio etc. has the motor been maintained, battery/hoses/belts etc. like I said without being able to physically look it over it would be hard to say what kind of a deal it is. one thing I would be concerned about is the transmission, how does the fluid look and smell, a lot of people neglect to change the filter and fluid like they should, until it starts slipping and by then the damage is done. so if they have never changed it, its probably about done.

If you look it up in the blue book it will take the mileage into consideration and it should give you wholesale, trade-in, retail, and private seller values armed with that and the information you already have you should be able to determine a fair price. it should tow your trailer if it is properly equipped. Does it have a towing package? If not you should figure on adding a transmission cooler, a proper hitch and possibly an electric brake controller. You also didn't mention what engine/transmission it has. You should be able to take the vin # to a GMC dealer and they can tell you its safe towing capacity if it is in good shape. You can read the vin# through the lower left corner of the windshield.
