I'm a proud new owner of a '65 Shasta Compact VIN# V18152
We had just recently joined the old VSTF forum and were sad to hear it was closing. So thankful that Vikx is continuing things here.
We've got a bit of a project ahead of us as our Shasta needs a bit of work and we'll definitely be looking for tips and advice to get our baby on the road. I'm sure my husband, Eric (eclayton) will be posting pictures and a more formal introduction some time in the near future.
Looking forward to getting to know folks on the forum.
Cindy

Our first vintage trailer! 1973 Shasta Lowflyte. Came with faded gold stripes and a family (or 2) of mice who are now homeless. We have evicted the mice, painted new canary yellow stripes, painted the roof with white elastomeric paint, epoxy painted the wheels, and added new tires. Now in process of painting interior a buttery yellow, removed the stove/oven and redoing cabinets to accommodate the Nostalgia Electrics fridge and microwave. Will post pics soon.

Wuhuu! So glad to have found you! Just yesterday I found the predecessor to this site and was heartbroken to find it shut down. Imagine my delight when mining through the files to see this one in its stead! We're so happy... and thank you!
To start, I'm hoping you can help me. I purchased my first vintage trailer this past weekend (so excited!) and am trying to verify the data on the title vice what the previous owner stated. Owner stated 1965; title proclaims a 1964 Shasta, VIN P2681A; and we believe an Airflyte (sadly, missing the wings). Yesterday we located the much covered, hard to read plate on the tongue and believe it to be the same though it may be P2631A, P2681P or P2631P. We lean more toward the P2681A (matching title) or P2631A. Might this be listed in your VIN database? We'll certainly try to post a picture if that's possible and woudl be of any assistance. All assistance is greatly appreciated.
We look forward to learning lots and playing with you! Again, we're so excited!

Aloha! As I continue to read the forum topics and research I find that what we believed was an Airflyte may actually be a 1500. Any chance that by using the possible VINs listed above we can figure it out? I also am still a it confused on why the title showed 2-axles. When I questioned DMV they stated that they often see titles for older trailers and cars with the number of axles matching the number of tires. Possible? They wouldn't change the title for me to say otherwise. Thanks for any and all help.

If it is a 1500 it will be 6'6"wide.
