In my recently acquired 1974 shasta compact there are 2 12 volt lights. One above the sink and one in a combo ac/dc light above the table. Where do these get power from? I see no where that housed a battery. Or do they run off of the parking lights when hooked to the tow vehicle?

Often the 12 volt lights do run off of the vehicle parking lights. I'm wondering if a battery could be added or might have been in 74? Seems odd a 74 would need parking lights to run two lights.
Any photos? Tongue, cargo/storage area?

Lessee, early-70's Shasta...check underneath the sink counter or inside the closet, in the front streetside corner, to determine where the wiring runs inside. You may find a fuse panel, and be able to trace from there. The wiring on my SC had the overhead lights powered from the vehicle plug, and the rest of the 12-V system involved the onboard water system pump (which would not exist in the Compact). That part was run from a battery onboard. In the original vehicle plug, if that still exists, it was a 14-gauge blue wire that ran to power the lights.
