OK we have a 13 ft Ace. We live North of Boston so we don't get the heat as bad as you folks in the south. I have a lot of storage space under the rear couch/bed that is no accessible unless you take apart the bed and has no external access!!! I have one closet that I could put the AC unit in but this would require us to give up closet space and to have external access via a door which would be very visible from the outside, oh and it would be under the awning. Not the ideal placement that one would like. Also the selection of access doors are horrible. They don't have breaks and they just look awful. The under deb options is questionable because we would have to do venting and cut thru the floor which is concerning. Also when the couch is made as a bed( which is all the time) the AC would be trapped under the deb and not as efficient there is a good 2 feet of space under the bed that the air would have to travel to get to the rest of the cabin!!!! Oh and there is always the under dinette seat which I could also do but then again the air is low and will it be enough to cool the camper. It is small cabin is 11ft by 6.5 wide at the most.
Hate to give up closet space Hate to have an ugly access door right next to the entrance to the camper Don't want to cut thru the floor
And last but not least Would hate to have the AC not cool the unit
Any options or thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Also if anyone out there has a source for less ugly access doors that info would be good too!!!!!

this is an age old problem, no good solution. there is really no ideal location to put an AC unit in without having to give up something.

I hear they make a reusable ice pack that's shaped to fit a fan...
