when connecting face frames, aka stiles and rails, anything 1.5" wide and wider needs to have 2 screws per joint bc the the second screw at each end not only pulls the joint tight but keeps it from twisting. also add some wood glue to the joint it help keeps the seam from opening up especially on cabinetry. if its an exposed joint like in cabinetry and its painted, the hair line joint won't open up and stand out like crazy.
