Yeah, we have three kids as well - 8, 12 & 14 year old. The boys (the older two) will probably want a tent, or if I am able to sew side walls/cabana for the awning, they can set up cots in there.
But like you said, I like having the option of being able to fit them inside if need be. So I got an extra set of brackets from eBay, and will make an additional cot bunk over the dinette - a HUGE thanks to BigBill for the suggestion!!!

Our 61 Deluxe has a double cot in the back and a single in the front. That's seven good friends or one big family in a 19 foot camper!
I had to find a few brackets because a PO removed some and kept them. The front poles and canvas were missing but I found poles and bought an original canvas. Then someone gave me a custom made from canvas made front awning material similar to sunbrella. It looks cool.
The original gas lamp had been removed because it would be right over the front cot. I bought a gas lamp to put there but it will have an LED light in it and not be hooked to the LP.

It could be like the "time out" bed...haha..kidding, bad joke....That's a good idea to do a double cot..never thought of that...wow, don't cook beans in that trailer (another bad joke)....

Our kids are 11 months and 26 months so neither of them sleep up in the cots yet. And since its a Deluxe it has a potty so beans or not somebody is going to stink it up. We really need to get a fantastic fan.
